શ્લો|| પ્રસક્તાશ્રુમુખી ત્યેવં બ્રુવન્તી જનકાત્મજા|
અધોમુખમુખી બાલા વિલપ્તુમુપચક્રમે||1||
ઉન્મત્તેવ પ્રમત્તેવ ભ્રાન્તચિત્તેવ શોચતી|
ઉપાવૃતા કિશોરીવ વિવેષ્ઠન્તી મહીતલે||2||

સ|| પ્રસક્તાશ્રુમુખી બાલા જનકાત્મજા એવં બ્રુવન્તીઅધોગતમુખી વિલપ્તું ઉપચક્રમે|| ઉન્મત્તેવ પ્રમત્તેવ ભ્રાન્તચિત્તેવ શોચતી ઉપાવૃતા કિશોરી ઇવ મહીતલે વિવેષ્ટંતી||

With face filled with tears and down cast , the young lady who is Janaka's daughter began to cry. Like an intoxicated and bewildered person, like a worried person with distracted mind, she was wallowing on the ground like a female horse.

શ્લો|| રાઘવસ્ય પ્રમત્તસ્ય રક્ષસા કામરૂપિણા|
રાવણેન પ્રમધ્યાઽહમાનીતા ક્રોશતી બલાત્||3||
રાક્ષસી વશમાપન્ના ભર્ત્સ્યમાના સુદારુણમ્|
ચિંતયન્તી સુદુઃખાર્તા નાહં જીવિતુ મુત્સહે||4||
નહિ મે જીવિતૈરર્થો નૈવાર્ધૈર્ન ચ ભૂષણૈઃ|
વસન્ત્યા રાક્ષસી મધ્યે વિના રામં મહારથમ્|| 5||

સ||રાઘવસ્ય પ્રમત્તસ્ય કામરૂપિણા રક્ષસા રાવણેન પ્રમધ્યા ક્રોશતી અહં બલાત્ આનીતા|| રાક્ષસી વશં આપન્નાસુદારુણં ભર્ત્સ્યમાના ચિંતયંતી સુદૂઃખાર્તા અહં જીવિતું ન ઉત્સહે||વિના મહારથં રામં રાક્ષસી મધ્યે વસન્ત્યા મે જીવિતૈઃ અર્થઃ ન હિ| ન એવ અર્થૈઃ ન ચ ભૂષણૈઃ |

" When Raghava was away , I was brought forcibly while crying by Ravana, the Rakshasa who can take any form. Being under the control of the Rakshasis, dreadfully threatened , worrying and overcome with grief , I have no interest in living. Living among the Rakshasa women without the great charioteer Rama, there is no meaning for this life. Neither wealth nor the ornaments matter.

શ્લો|| અશ્મસાર મિદં નૂનં અથવા પ્યજરામરમ્|
હૃદયં મમ યેનેદં ન દુઃખે નાવશીર્યતે||6||
ધિજ્ઞ્મામનાર્ય મસતીં યા હં તેન વિનાકૃતા|
મુહૂર્તમપિ રક્ષામિ જીવિતં પાપ જીવિતા||7||
કા ચ મે જીવિતા શ્રદ્ધા સુખેવા તં પ્રિયં વિના|
ભર્તારં સાગરાન્તાયાઃ વસુધાયાઃ પ્રિયં વદમ્||8||

સ||અથવા મમ ઇદં હૃદયમ્ નૂનં અશ્મસારં અજરામજરં અપિ યેન દુઃખેન અવસીર્યતે|| તેન વિના કૃતા મુહૂર્તં અપિ જીવિતં રક્ષામિ (તત્) અનાર્યં |અહં પાપજીવિતા અસતીં મામ્ ધિક્ || સાગરાંતાયાઃ વસુધાયાઃ ભર્તારમ્ પ્રિયંવદં તં વિના મે જીવિતે સ્સુખેવા શ્રદ્ધા કા?

"My heart is surely made of stone, or it has no age or death since it is not dispersed with grief. That without him I am protecting this life even for a moment is improper. I am an infidel, a woman of sinful life. Fie on me. What is the interest in pleasure or happiness in my life, without the sweet tongued Lord of the earth, which stretches up to the shores of the oceans.

શ્લો|| ભિદ્યતાં ભક્ષ્યતાં વાપિ શરીરં વિશૃજામ્યહમ્|
ન ચાપ્યહં ચિરં દુઃખં સહેયં પ્રિયવર્જિતા||9||
ચરણે નાપિ સવ્યેન ન સ્પૃશેયં નિશાચરમ્|
રાવણં કિં પુનરહં કામયેયં વિગર્હિતમ્||10||
પ્રત્યાખ્યાતં ન જાનાતિ નાત્માનં નાત્મનઃ કુલમ્|
યો નૃશંસ સ્વભાવેન માં પ્રાર્થયિતુમિચ્છતિ||11||
છિન્ના ભિન્ના વિભક્તા વા દીપ્તે વાગ્નૌ પ્રદીપિતા|
રાવણં નોપતિષ્ઠેયં કિં પ્રલાપેન વશ્ચિરમ્||12||

સ||અહં શરીરં વિસૃજામિ | ભિદ્યતાં ભક્ષ્યતાં વા અપિ પ્રિયવર્જિતા અહં ચિર દુઃખં ન ચ સહેયં|| અયં નિશાચરં વિગર્હિતાં રાવણં ચરણેન સવ્યેન અપિ ન સ્પૃશે|કિં પુનઃ કામયે અયં? યઃ નૃશંસ ભાવેન માં પ્રાર્થયિતું ઇચ્છતિ (સઃ) આત્માનં પ્રત્યાખ્યાતંન જાનાતિ| આત્મનઃ કુલં ન ( જાનાતિ)|| છિન્ના વા ભિન્ના દીપ્તે અગ્નૌ પ્રદીપિતા રાવણમ્ નોપતિષ્ટેયં | ચિરં વિભક્તાઃ પ્રલાપેન કિમ્?||

"I will leave this body. Cut me to pieces, or eat me up. Without my dear husband, I cannot bear this sorrow for too long. I cannot touch the vile night roamer, Ravana even with my left foot. Where is the question of loving him. This man of cruel nature who wants to plead with me, he is not aware of his own loss of fame. Nor the loss of his family. Whether cut or broken into pieces, or burnt by fire I will not accept Ravana. What is the use of your raving so long".

શ્લો|| ખ્યાતઃ પ્રાજ્ઞઃ કૃતજ્ઞશ્ચ સાનુક્રોશશ્ચ રાઘવઃ|
સદ્વૃત્તો નિરનુક્રોશઃ શઙ્કે મદ્ભાગ્ય સંક્ષયાત્||13||
રાક્ષસાનાં સહસ્રાણિ જનસ્થાને ચતુર્દશઃ|
યેનૈ કેન નિરસ્તાનિ સ માં કિં નાભિપદ્યતે||14||
નિરુદ્ધા રાવણે નાહં અલ્પવીર્યેણ રક્ષસા|
સમર્થઃ ખલુ મે ભર્તા રાવણં હન્તુમાહવે||15||
વિરાધો દણ્ડકારણ્યે યેન રાક્ષસ પુંગવઃ|
રણે રામેણ નિહતઃ સ માં કિં નાભિપદ્યતે||16||

સ|| રાઘવઃ ખ્યાતઃ પ્રાજ્ઞઃ કૃતજ્ઞઃ સદ્વૃત્તઃ ચ | સઃ અનુક્રોશઃ મદ્ભાગ્યસંક્ષયાત્ નિરનુક્રોશઃ શઙ્કે || યેન એકેન જનસ્થાને ચતુર્દશઃ સહસ્રાણિ રાક્ષસાનાં નિરસ્તાનિ સઃ માં કિં ન અભિપદ્યતે||અહં આલ્પવીર્યેણ રક્ષસા રાવણેન નિરુદ્ધા મે ભર્તા આહવે રાવણં હંતું સમર્થઃ ખલુ|| યેન દણ્ડકારણ્યે રણે રાક્ષસપુંગવઃ વિરાધઃ નિહતઃ સઃ માં કિં ન અભિપદ્યતે||

"Raghava is renowned as wise grateful and well behaved. I doubt that kind hearted one due to my misfortune became pitiless. The one who killed fourteen thousand Rakshasas in Janasthana , why is he not protecting me? I am held captive by this Rakshasa of inferior valor. My husband is surely capable of killing Ravana in a battle. The one who killed Viradha the bull among Rakshasa in a fight in the Dandaka forest, why is he not protecting me.

શ્લો|| કામં મધ્યે સમુદ્રસ્ય લઙ્કેયં દુષ્પ્રધર્ષણા|
ન તુ રાઘવ બાણાનાં ગતિરોધી હ વિદ્યતે||17||
કિન્નુ તત્કારણં યેન રામો ધૃઢ પરાક્રમઃ|
રક્ષસાપહૃતાં ભાર્યા મિષ્ટાં નાભ્યવપદ્યતે||18||

સ||સમુદ્રસ્ય મધ્યે ઇયં લઙ્કા દુષ્પ્રધર્ષણા તુ રાઘવબાણાનાં ગતિરોધઃ ન ભવિષ્યતિ|| તત્ કારણં કિં નુ યેન દૃઢપરાક્રમઃ રામઃ રક્ષસા અપહૃતાં ભાર્યા ઇષ્ટાં ન અભ્યવપદ્યતે||

Though this Lanka in the middle of the sea is impregnable, nothing can resist Rama's arrows. What is the reason because of which the highly powerful Rama is not able to reach his dear wife abducted by the Rakshasa?

શ્લો|| ઇહસ્થાં માં ન જાનીતે શઙ્કે લક્ષ્મણ પૂર્વજઃ|
જાનન્નપિ હિ તેજસ્વી ધર્ષણં મર્ષયિષ્યતિ||19||
હૃતેતિ યોઽધિગત્વા માં રાઘવાય નિવેદયેત્ |
ગૃધરાજોઽપિ સ રણે રાવણેન નિપાતિતઃ||20||
કૃતં કર્મ મહત્તેન માં તથાઽભ્યવપદ્યતા|
તિષ્ઠતા રાવણદ્વન્દ્વે વૃદ્ધેનાપિ જટાયુષા||21||

સ|| લક્ષ્મણ પૂર્વજઃ માં ઇહસ્થાં ન જાનીતે શંકે| જાનન્ અપિ તેજસ્વી ધર્ષણં મર્ષયિષ્યતિ|| યઃ અધિગત્વા હૃતઃ ઇતિ રાઘવાય નિવેદયત્ સઃ ગૃધરાજઃ અપિ રાવણેન રણે નિપાતિતઃ||મામ્ તથા અભ્યવપદ્યતા વૃદ્ધેનાપિ રાવણદ્વંદ્વે તિષ્ઠતા તેન જટાયુષા મહત્ કર્મ કૃતમ્||

"Probably the elder brother of Lakshmana does not know that I am here. If he knew would that glorious one tolerate this outrageous act. That king of vultures knows that I am abducted and hence can tell Rama. But that one has been killed by Ravana in the fight. That Jatayu, who though old, stood by me in the duel with Ravana, did a great help".

શ્લો|| યદિ મા મિહ જાનીયાત્ વર્તમાનં સ રાઘવઃ|
અદ્ય બાણૈ રભિક્રુદ્ધઃ કુર્યાલ્લોકમરાક્ષસમ્||22||
વિધમેચ્છ પુરીં લઙ્કાં શોષયેચ્છ મહોદધિમ્|
રાવણસ્ય ચ નીચસ્ય કીર્તિં નામ ચ નાશયેત્||23||

સ||સઃ રાઘવઃ માં ઇહ વર્તમાનં જાનીયાત્ યદિ અભિકૃદ્ધઃ લોકં બાણૈઃ અદ્ય અરાક્ષસં કુર્યાત્ || લઙ્કાં પુરીં વિધમેચ્છ મહોદધિં શોષમેચ્છનીચસ્ય રાવણસ્ય કીર્તિં નામ ચ નાશયેત્||

If that Rama knows that I am here , then being angry he would have made this world free of Rakshasas. He will blow away the city of Lanka. He will drain the oceans. He will destroy the name and fame of that evil Ravana.

શ્લો|| તતો નિહતા નાધાનાં રાક્ષસીનાં ગૃહે ગૃહે|
યથા હમેવં રુદતી તદા ભૂયો નસંશયઃ||24||
અન્વિષ્ય રક્ષસાં લઙ્કાં કુર્યાદ્રામઃ સલક્ષ્મણઃ|
ન હિ તાભ્યાં રિપુર્દૃષ્ટો મુહૂર્તમપિ જીવતિ||25||

સ|| તતઃ અહં યથા એવં રુદતી તથા ગૃહે ગૃહે નિહત નાથાનાં રાક્ષસીનાં ભૂયઃ ન સંશયઃ||સલક્ષ્મણઃ રામઃ રક્ષસાં લઙ્કાં અન્વિષ્ય કુર્યાત્ તાભ્યાં દૃષ્ટઃ રિપુઃ મુહૂર્તં અપિ ન જીવતિ હિ ||

I see Rakshasa women who lost their husbands crying in every house like me. I have no doubt. If only Rama along with Lakshmana reach this Lanka, the enemies cannot stand in their sight even for a moment.

શ્લો|| ચિતાધૂમાકુલપથા ગૃધમણ્ડલ સંકુલા |
અચિરેણ તુ લઙ્કેયં શ્મશાન સદૃશીભવેત્||26||
અચિરેણૈવ કાલેન પ્રાપ્સ્યામ્યેવ મનોરથમ્|
દુષ્પ્રસ્થાનોઽય માખ્યાતિ સર્વેષાં વો વિપર્યયમ્||27||

સ|| ઇયં લઙ્કા અચિરેણ ચિતાધૂમકુલપથા ગૃથમંડલ સંકુલા શ્મશાન સદૃશી ભવેત્|| અચિરેણ કાલેન મનોરથં પ્રાપ્સ્યમેવ | અયં દુષ્પ્રસ્થાનઃ સર્વેષાં વઃ વિપર્યયમ્ આખ્યાતિ|

This Lanka will soon be like a cremation ground with its streets covered with smoke , with vultures flying around. Very soon my desire will be fulfilled. The bad behavior of all of you, indicates a reversal of fate.

શ્લો|| યાદૃશા નીહ દૃશ્યંતે લઙ્કાયા મશુભાનિ વૈ|
અચિરેણ તુ કાલેન ભવિષ્યતિ હતપ્રભા||28||
નૂનં લઙ્કા હતે પાપે રાવણે રાક્ષસાધમે|
શોષં યાસ્યતિ દુર્ધર્ષા પ્રમદા વિધવા યથા||29||
પુણ્યોત્સવસમુત્થા ચ નષ્ટભર્ત્રી સ રાક્ષસી|
ભવિષ્યતિ પુરી લંકા નષ્ટભર્ત્રી યથાઽઙ્ગના||30||

સ|| ઇહ લંકાયાં યાદૃશાનિ અશુભાનિ દૃશ્યંતે અચિરેણૈવ કાલેન (લઙ્કા) હતપ્રભા ભવિષ્યતિ|| પાપે રાક્ષસાધમે રાવણે હતે દુર્ધર્ષા લઙ્કા નૂનં વિધવા પ્રમદા યથા શોષં યાસ્યતિ|| પુણ્યોત્સવ સમુત્થા લંકાપુરી નષ્ટભર્ત્રી નષ્ટભર્ત્રી અઙ્ગના યથા ભવિષ્યતિ ||

In this Lanka such inauspicious signs are seen that very soon Lanka will lose its splendor. When the mean sinner, the Rakshasa Ravana is killed , this impregnable Lanka will wither away like a widow. Along with Rakshasa women, the city of Lanka which had many auspicious celebrations, having lost the king, will remain like a woman with the death of her husband.

શ્લો|| નૂનં રાક્ષસકન્યાનાં રુદન્તીનાં ગૃહે ગૃહે|
શ્રોષ્યામિ ન ચિરાદેવ દુઃખાર્તાના મિહ ધ્વનિમ્||31||
સાન્ધકારા હતદ્યોતા હત રાક્ષસપુઙ્ગવા|
ભવિષ્યતિ પુરી લઙ્કા નિર્દગ્ધા રામસાયકૈઃ||32||

સ|| ન ચિરાદેવ ઇહ ગૃહે ગૃહે દુઃખાર્તાનાં રુદન્તીનાં રાક્ષસકન્યાનાં ધ્વનિં નૂનં શ્રોષ્યામિ|| લઙ્કાપુરી રામસાયકૈઃ નિર્દગ્ધા સ અન્ધકારા હતદ્યોતા હતરાક્ષસપુઙ્ગવા ભવિષ્યતિ ||

Very soon, I will surely hear the sounds of distressful cries of Rakshasa women from every house. The city of Lanka will be totally burnt, filled with darkness losing its splendor. All the Rakshasa warriors will be killed by the arrows of Rama.

શ્લો|| યદિ નામ સ શૂરો માં રામો રક્તાન્તલોચનઃ|
જાનીયાદ્વર્તમાનાં હિ રાવણસ્ય નિવેશને||33||
અનેન તુ નૃશંસેન રાવણે નાધમેન મે|
સમયો યસ્તુ નિર્દિષ્ટઃ તસ્યકાલોઽયમાગતઃ||34||
સ ચ મે વિહિતો મૃત્યુરસ્મિન્ દુષ્ટે ન વર્તતે|

સ|| યદિ રક્તાંતલોચનઃ સઃ રામઃ રાવણસ્ય નિવેશને વર્તમાનાં યદિ નામ જાનીયાત્ | નૃશંસેન અધમેન અનેન રાવણેન યઃ સમયઃ મે નિર્દિષ્ટઃ તસ્યઅયં કાલઃ આગતઃ| મેવિહિતઃ સઃ મૃત્યુઃ અસ્મિન્ દુષ્ટેન વર્તતે||

If only the heroic Rama with blood shot eyes knows that I am in the Ravana's palace. The time limit been set by this lowly person Ravana, has now arrived. The death fixed for me by this vile person why not impinge on him.

શ્લો|| અકાર્યં યે ન જાનન્તિ નૈરૃતાં પાપકારિણઃ|
અધર્માત્તુ મહોત્પાતો ભવિષ્યતિ હિ સાંપ્રતમ્ ||35||
નૈતે ધર્મં વિજાનન્તિ રાક્ષસાઃ પિશિતાશનાઃ|

સ|| પાપકારિણઃ યે નૈર્રુતાઃ અકાર્યં ન જાનન્તિ | અધર્માત્ સંપ્રાપ્તં મહોત્પાતઃ ભવિષ્યતિ |પિશિતાશનાઃ એતે રક્ષસાઃ ધર્મં ન વિજાનન્તિ ||

These sinners do not know the forbidden acts. Due to improper acts great calamities will happen. These flesh eating Rakshasas do not know righteous conduct.

શ્લો|| ધ્રુવં મા પ્રાતરાશાર્થે રાક્ષસઃ કલ્પયિષ્યતિ||36||
સાઽહં કથમ્ કરિષ્યામિ તં વિના પ્રિયદર્શનમ્|
રામં રક્તાન્તનયનં અપસ્યન્તી સુદુઃખિતા||37||

સ|| રાક્ષસઃ ધ્રુવં માં પ્રાતરાશાર્થે કલ્પયિષ્યતિ | સા અહં પ્રિયદર્શનમ્ તં વિના કથં કરિષ્યામિ | રક્તાન્તનયનમ્ રામં અપશ્યન્તી સુદુઃખિતા||

These Rakshasas will definitely make a morning meal of me. What can I do without the Rama who is pleasing to the eyes. Unable to see the one with reddish tinge in his eyes I am distressed very much.

શ્લો|| યદિ કશ્ચિત્પ્રદાતામે વિષસ્યાદ્ય ભવેદિહ|
ક્ષિપ્રં વૈવસ્વતં દેવં પશ્યેયં પતિના વિના||38||
ના જાના જ્જીવતીં રામઃ સ માં લક્ષ્મણપૂર્વજઃ|
જાનંતૌ તૌ ન કુર્યાતાં નોર્વ્યાં હિ મમ માર્ગણમ્||39||

સ|| અદ્ય મે વિષસ્ય પ્રદાતા કશ્ચિત્ ઇહ ભવેત્ યદિ પતિના વિના ક્ષિપ્રં દેવં વૈવસ્વતં પશ્યેયમ્||લક્ષ્મણપૂર્વજઃ સઃ રામઃ મામ્ જીવતીં નાજાનાત્ તૌ જાનંતૌ મમ માર્ગણં ઉર્વ્યામ્ ન કુર્યતામ્ ઇતિ ન||

If there is a person who can give poison is here, I am ready to see the Lord of death without my lord . That Rama the elder brother of Lakshmana does not know that I am living . If they knew they would not have left searching all over.

શ્લો|| નૂનં મમૈવ શોકેન સ વીરો લક્ષ્મણાગ્રજઃ|
દેવલોક મિતોયાતઃ ત્યક્ત્વા દેહં મહીપતે||40||
ધન્યા દેવાઃ સગન્ધર્વાઃ સિદ્ધાશ્ચપરમર્ષયઃ|
મમ પશ્યન્તિ યે નાથં રામં રાજીવ લોચનમ્||41||
અથવા કિન્નુ તસ્યાર્થો ધર્મકામસ્ય ધીમતઃ|
મયા રામસ્ય રાજર્ષેર્ભાર્યયા પરમાત્મનઃ||42||

સ|| વીરઃ લક્ષ્મણાગ્રજઃ સઃ મમ શોકેનૈવ મહીતલે દેહં ત્યક્ત્વા ઇતઃ દેવલોકં યાતઃ નૂનં|| મમ નાથં રાજીવલોચનમ્ રામં યે પશ્યન્તિ દેવાઃ સગન્ધર્વાઃ સિદ્ધાશ્ચ પરમર્ષયઃ ધન્યાઃ||અથવા ધર્મકામસ્ય ધીમતઃ રાજર્ષેઃ પરમાત્મનઃ તસ્ય રામસ્ય ભાર્યયા મયા અર્થઃ ન હિ||

The heroic elder brother of Lakshmana may have left his body on the earth in distress , and surely went to the abode of gods. Seeing my husband who has eyes like that of lotus petals, the gods along with the Gandharvas, Siddhas and the great sages will be blessed. Or else the wise one ever seeking dharma, the royal sage , the supreme self has lost interest in me, his wife.

શ્લો|| દૃશ્યમાને ભવેત્પ્રીતિઃ સૌહૃદં નાસ્ત્યપશ્યતઃ|
નાશયંતિ કૃતઘ્નાસ્તુ ન રામો નાશયિષ્યતિ||43||
કિં નુ મે નગુણાઃ કેચિત્ કિંવા ભાગ્યક્ષયો મમ|
યાsહં સીદામિ રામેણ હીના મુખ્યેન ભામિની||44||
શ્રેયો મે જીવિતાન્ મર્તું વિહીનયા મહાત્મનઃ|
રામાદક્લિષ્ટ ચારિત્રાત્ શૂરાત્ શત્રુનિબર્હણાત્||45||

સ|| દૃશ્યમાને પ્રીતિઃ ભવેત્ અપશ્યતઃ સૌહૃદં નાસ્તિ| કૃતઘ્નાઃ નાશયંતિ રામસ્તુ ન નાશયિષ્યતિ|| ભામિની યા અહં મુખ્યેન રામેણ વિના સીદામિ મેકેચિત્ ગુણાઃ ન કિં નુ | કિં વા મમ ભાગ્યક્ષયઃ ( અબહવત્)||
સ|| અક્લિષ્ટચારિત્રાત્ શૂરાત્ શત્રુનિબર્હણાત્ મહાત્મનઃ રામાત્ વિહીનાયાઃ મે જીવિતાત્ મર્તું શ્રેયઃ||

When one keeps seeing love will happen. If you do not see, even friendship does not last. For the ungrateful one's love perishes. Rama's love will not perish. A charming lady that I am , and that I am able to live without Rama , does it mean that some qualities are not in me? Is my fortune diminished? It is better for me to die instead of living separated from the great soul Rama who is of blemish less character, who is heroic, who can destroy his enemies.

શ્લો|| અથવા ન્યસ્તશસ્ત્રૌ તૌ વને મૂલફલાશિનૌ|
ભ્રાતરૌ હિ નરશ્રેષ્ટૌ સંવૃતૌ વનગોચરૌ||46||
અથવા રાક્ષસેન્દ્રેણ રાવણેન દુરાત્મના|
છદ્મના ઘાતિતૌ શૂરૌ ભ્રાતરૌ રામલક્ષ્મણૌ||47||
સાઽહમેવં ગતે કાલે મર્તુ મિચ્છામિ સર્વથા|
ન ચ મે વિહિતો મૃત્યુ રસ્મિન્ દુઃખેઽપિ વર્તતિ||48||

સ|| અથવા નરશ્રેષ્ઠૌ તૌ ભ્રાતરૌ ન્યસ્ત શસ્ત્રૌ વને મૂલફલાસિનૌ વનગોચરૌ સંવૃતૌ|| અથવા શૂરૌ ભ્રાતરૌ રામલક્ષ્મણૌ દુરાત્મના રાક્ષસેંદ્રેણ રાવણેન છદ્મના ઘાતિતૌ|| એવં ગતે કાલે સા અહં સર્વથા મર્તું ઇચ્છામિ | અસ્મિન્ દુઃખે અપિ મે મૃત્યુઃ વિહિતઃ ન વર્તતે||

Or may be those two brothers, best among men , laid down their arms and are roaming the forest as ascetics living on fruits and roots. Or maybe the two heroic brothers would have been killed by that cruel deceptive Ravana. In these circumstances by all means I wish to die. In this sorrow even the death seems to be not possible.

શ્લો|| ધન્યાઃ ખલુ મહાત્માનો મુનયઃ ત્યક્ત કિલ્બિષાઃ|
જિતાત્માનો મહાભાગા યેષાં ન સ્તઃ પ્રિયાપ્રિયે||49||
પ્રિયાન્ન સંભવેત્ દુઃખં અપ્રિયાદધિકં ભયં|
તાભ્યાં હિ યે નિયુજ્યંતે નમસ્તેષાં મહાત્મનામ્||50||

સ|| મહાત્મનઃ ત્યક્તકિલ્બિષાઃ જિતાત્મનઃ મહાભાગાઃ મુનયઃ ધન્યાઃ ખલુ યેષામ્ પ્રિયા અપ્રિયે ન સ્તઃ|| પ્રિયાત્ દુઃખં અપ્રિયાત્ અધિકં ભયં ન સંભવેત્ યે તાભ્યાં વિયુજ્યંતે તેષાં મહાત્મનાં નમઃ||

Great men who have given up all sins, the exalted ones who have won over the Self, the sages are indeed blessed . For them the pleasure or displeasure does not exist. Sorrow from pleasing act , or fear from unpleasant act does not happen to them. Those who have distanced themselves from these dualities are great souls. Salutations to them.

શ્લો|| સાઽહં ત્યક્તા પ્રિયાર્હેણ રામેણ વિદિતાત્મના |
પ્રાણાં સ્ત્યક્ષ્યામિ પાપસ્ય રાવણસ્ય ગતા વશમ્||51||

સ|| પ્રિયેણૈવ વિદિતાત્મના રામેણ ત્યક્તા પાપસ્ય રાવણસ્ય વશમ્ ગતા સા અહં પ્રાણાં તક્ષ્યામિ ||

Separated from Rama who is a realized self, being under the control of the sinner Ravana, I shall give up this life.

ઇત્યાર્ષે શ્રીમદ્રામાયણે આદિકાવ્યે વાલ્મીકીયે
ચતુર્વિંશત્ સહસ્રિકાયાં સંહિતાયામ્
શ્રીમત્સુન્દરકાણ્ડે ષડ્વિંશસ્સર્ગઃ||

Thus ends the twenty sixth Sarga of Sundarakanda in Ramayana the first ever poem composed by the first poet sage Valmiki.
